-- SIX surgeries and that is all before we can do the hip. And completely ignores the knees, which will also have to get done at sone point sooner rather than later.
-- OMG this is going to be nuts expensive

+++ Thanks to the fact that I am on the expensive health plan at Major NonProfit I only have a $1500 max out of pocket for out of network care so ONG expensive should actually be, essentially, free.
--- I will have to pay and submit for reimbursement. If they agree it's medically necessary. Otherwise I am screwed.
---- This many surgeries and costs may cause Major NonProfit to reconsider their self-insured status.
??? Though in the grand scheme of surgical costs maybe it's not so much?

Yeah I stopped because I suddenly realized death spiral. I just have to focus on positives.

Thanks. It's a connective tissue disorder that really only affects people assigned female at birth so, as per usual in the US, we ignore it, don't believe it exists, undertreat it, and decide for the patient what's necessary to treat it (this despite the fact that it was likely first identified at the Mayo Clinic in 1940). Which results in "conservative" treatment at best, and a lack of doctors who actually know what they are doing with it. And the surgeons who work on it are, generally, in plastics. Which, to an insurance company, reads cosmetic. So it may be a bit of a fight. But I am trying to stay positive.
